A gem of a cottage in such a beautiful area. I am going to miss our nightly visits from The Pine Martens and a badger.
We will definitely be back. We have written in the small book ( wildlife book ) with regards to the wildlife.
Also thank you ever so much for the bread, milk and eggs, very much appreciated.
We are sad to be leaving.
|4/4/18 - 8/4/18 Julie, Thomas and Yasmin (London )
We had a lovely time at Grant Cottage. The Pine Marten paid us a visit on 2 nights and every night we laid
out sandwiches- it was gone the next morning! The chirping of the birds and the gushing of the stream
created a serene peaceful atmosphere which will be greatly missed.
Thank you very much, we will definitely be back!
||26/3/18 - 30/3/18 The Lauder family Armadale ( West Lothian)
A beautiful Highland Hideaway. We were very lucky to see both The Pine Marten and a Badger.
The area around the house is lovely and you can paddle in the burn, LOVELY!
We had a good time visiting Urquhart Castle, Glen Affric, Plodda Falls ( very impressive )
and a nice day trip to Beauly ( the home of The Clan Fraser for all of you outlander fans )
The Priory was very interesting, we had a lovely lunch in The Priory Hotel!

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Nothing better than a morning coffee sat watching the birds
eating their breakfast whilst we have ours. Feels like friends are visiting us each morning to say '' Hello''.
The most difficult part is leaving !!
We will be back !!!!!

Dear Andrew and Catherine.
Thank you very much for the lovely accommodation! We saw lots of wildlife including The Pine Marten, fox, blue tits, golden eagle,
wood pecker, highland cow down the road and owls hooting. It snowed really heavy and was so beautiful, we even built a snowman and a snow cat!
Also we really loved the open fire, it was so cosy when we came back in from our walks.
We have also left you some tasty chocolates which we were very tempted to eat, just a little thank you for letting us stay in you're cottage.
And OMG, we LOVE the bubbly bath and how it fizzes!!!
This has been one of the best holiday locations ever, thank you very much, lots of love,
Molly and Lily - The Kids

Just what the doctor ordered. I needed to unwind, de-stress, relax and just be !!
Michelle and I had a fabulous time together. Such a relaxed and comfortable cottage.
Very warm and well equipped for our needs.
Watching the wildlife at breakfast was a joy, so much going on yet so peaceful.

*Glen Strathfarrar - Remote vast wilderness!
*Moray Firth dolphins.

We have had a fabulous week. Weather mixed but generally very good. The cottage is perfect, so pretty and well maintained, in a perfect
position. Lots of birds in the garden and the woodpecker is a regular visitor.
Every night we have consistently put out jam and peanut butter sandwiches and every morning they were gone. However, on Friday
night the Pine Marten came to the bird table and we spent quite some time watching him feed, truly magical.
The walk from the book is well worth it, a steep start but clean under foot.
The tea room in Tomich is lovely, great food and very friendly. The Slater's Arms great for food and very friendly.
||October 4th 2017 Meg, Rod, Karen and Jeff McKee St Catherines, Ontariio, Canada.
We have had a fantastic week. If only we could have more time! The Scottish Highlands are all that I imagined and more, what
a beautiful rugged country. The sights, sounds are amazing, the weather was for the most......... perfection, rain showers then
rainbows. Everyone we met was so friendly and engaging.
Andrew and Catherine, the cottage was perfect. So well appointed, you have thought of everything.
The Pine Marten remained a mystery!! We put out our jam sandwiches faithfully, and in the morning they were gone............ but
we never spotted him! Lots of birds, no deer though.
We will take many memories and tons of photo's home to Canada with us.
|Sue and Shane Baker (Derbyshire) 18th - 25th September 2017
Very relaxing stay. Cottage comfy and warm, even without the log fire!
Explored Glen Affric and Glen Cannich (not well sign posted ), but worth the trip!
Beautiful scenery and a huge dam at the end of the road. So many places to explore.
Lovely Sunday lunch at the Tomich Hotel and giant cakes and snacks at the small café opposite the hotel.
The weather was also kind to us - an added bonus!
Local Spar shop at Cannich stocks everything!. Very friendly service.

We have had a fantastic week in this cosy cottage, which has been the perfect place to relax after several busy days out. Can highly recommend:
-Chanonry Point for Dolphin watching, we were lucky enough to watch them just off the shore
-Highland Wildlife Centre
-Landmark Adventure Park, great mix of activities for all ages.
-Inverness is a beautiful City, well worth a walk around. We recommend Miele's Ice Cream Shop on Church Street-Delicious !!
We have all thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife here. So many birds constantly visiting the feeders, has been
amazing. A favourite being the woodpeckers.
We have had a visit from a few Pine Martens who have eaten the jam sandwiches and egg left out every night.
We were very lucky to see the culprit on 4 of these nights, usually between 8 and 9.
Thank you for an amazing week and a holiday to remember.
||Joanna Proctor and Family (24th-28th July 2017 )
Had a lovely relaxing stay at Grant Cottage. Lazy and peaceful watching the world go by.
Lots of wildlife and lots to do in the area.
Over our few days we enjoyed seeing all the different birds enjoying the seeds and bread we
had put out etc.
The Pine Martens certainly enjoy jam sandwiches!! Every night without fail they disappeared.
Sadly we didn't manage to see them.

|20th-23rd July 2017 Zachary Sammutt ( 11 years ) and Margot
This morning 22nd July, the decking was completely covered with birds, that is because we had left some bread with jam
for the Pine Marten the previous night but had sad results !!
We also went to Inverness City and took an hour walk down to Nessie Islands, Nessie wasn't home but heron's were good enough.
Overall I enjoyed the stay at the cottage, it was very cosy and I liked the little bench looking out to the relaxing little stream.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it was very peaceful, exactly what we were looking for.
||15th - 19th July 2017 Mick and Dawn Edson

place and so cosy and homely,

We have had a wonderful time using Grant Cottage as our base. Travelling to Aberdeen in the east and
Kyle of Lochalsh in the west , it was comforting to know that if we had any problems we would find Andrew and Catherine
at the end of a phone line.
Looking forward to returning.
||24th June - 1st July 2017 Les and Jennifer Compton (Cambridge )
We have enjoyed staying here in this lovely cottage. Thank you for the 'Goodies'.
It is so peaceful and situated in a fantastic area. We had some good meals at The Loch Ness Inn.
Our guests also left a note in the wildlife book
We have really enjoyed staying here and watching all the various birds. We re- filled the feeders as they were going down
so quick and have put up 2 suet coconuts as the first one was empty after two day's.
Regularly saw the Pine Marten, sometimes about 7.30pm and other times about 9pm. In the early hours of the
morning I looked out and a badger was on the decking!
We will miss this when we go home.

Dear Andrew and Catherine,
We had an amazing holiday, you're cottage and gardens are very nice. The Pine Marten
is really lovely. We visited Scotland for the first time it is a wonderful country.
We want to come back.
Thank you very much !
|John and Christine Quirk - Cumbria 13th May to 27th May 2017
We have had a wonderful fortnight in this comfortable cottage, we have had plenty of walks, Glen Aric, Plodda Falls, Dundreggan
and up the nearby path where we saw 4 Red Deer hinds which kept shouting at us so maybe there was young nearby and
they were telling them to keep still.
The Pine Marten came every night and devoured the jam sandwiches, it went under the decking regularly with food, some nights
it came about 7.15pm but usually it appeared about 8.15- 8.30pm. It prefers jam to peanut butter and is very hungry.
But most relaxing of all is just sitting at the window or on the bench in the garden and watching all the birds. Fantastic !
The woodpecker is partial to a jam sandwich and the Pine Marten came today a 6.30pm. We cut the bread with the jam
on it into small pieces so it stays here longer.
||Yvonne and David Reilly - Edinburgh1st- 4th May 2017
What a beautiful cottage, the view is amazing, we loved watching all the birds visiting

This was one of the best holiday's I've ever had. I know you must all be used to these wonderful praises but it's true.
This cottage is absolutely wonderful, beautiful, awesome, great etc.....etc......
We've been out on walks being such beautiful weather. On arrival the day was cold and was 0 degrees in the morning,
it was all frost and white but later on it was just all lovely.
All the visits from the birds and The Pine Marten. Been to Inverness, The Loch, The Castle, almost everywhere.
We as a family hardly ever go out due to our special son but this stay was just fine and have had no problems.
Everything is just so well thought of. I can very well say this is 'MY HAVEN', would love to come back.

Great Wildlife at Grant Cottage. Saw many birds including lots of Chaffinches, Wagtails, Doves, Yellowhammers,
and a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
We also saw the Pine Marten twice within the week. Fed lots of bread and jam every night, then one night
a Badger showed up and took all the bread and jam left for the Pine Marten.
There is also lots of great wildlife to see in the local area including Glen Cannich Deer Park.
Very much enjoyed seeing all of this wildlife !!

right on our doorstep up to Loch Riabhachain ( lots of climbs ) and to the waterfall on Corrimony Nature Reserve- this was hard to find but was amazing when we got there.
We're looking forward to returning for a longer stay when we're able too. Thanks !
PS. It's been a long ambition of ours to see a Pine Marten, so we eagerly put out his favourite food and waited patiently. Alas! the food went- but he was too clever for us !

we fed on the bird table.
People very friendly in the area and we would definitely come back.
|The Mackay Family ( East Kilbride ) - 4/7/15 - 11/7/15
Had a fantastic time, couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay, a great retreat to get away from it all! just wish
we could have had a few more days here! Had a fantastic meal at the' Slaters Arms ' in Cannich, I would highly recommend,
especially if you enjoy a good curry! If you have young children I would highly recommend giving 'Nessie Land ' a miss, no
matter how much they beg, it was a complete waste of time. You are better going to the' Loch Ness Centre' a few doors down
which was much more interactive.
Also remember to top up the bird table each night to see the Pine Marten, we found he loved the jam sandwiches and peanuts
the best, he usually visited between 10.30 & 11pm every other night. The wood pecker seemed to enjoy the Suet Fat Balls in the wire
feeder too every morning.
We will definitely be recommending this cottage to our friends, hopefully we will have a little more sunshine next time we return.

We have had an amazing holiday. The cottage was lovely, it had everything that we needed
the weather was outstanding, it's been above 20 degrees all week. The kids enjoyed feeding the
birds and Pine Martens. We done all the local walks, but since it was so hot (never thought I would
be saying that about Scotland ) the kids were getting tired and wanted to come back to the
cottage, which we were more than happy to do as the kids were" happy as Larry" in the garden
on the little cars going back and forward.
Thank you for a great holiday,

Great Holiday- Fantastic Scenery and pretty good weather. The birds on the bird table kept us entertained (get plenty of bird feed ).

Thank you very much Catherine and Andrew for our delightful stay at Grant Cottage. We felt very comfortable here after your warm welcome and it put
our minds at ease after our long ( but well worth ) journey here. Our second time here to Millness Croft proved just as wonderful as the first, even in another cottage.
The quiet peaceful surroundings and homely feeling of Grant Cottage allowed us the much needed escape from everyday life. We all agreed that the way the cottages
are situated not to overlook each other and how each has a clearly defined garden space suited us very well. ( prime position for much nature watching ).

Fantastic week in a lovely cottage, a nice peaceful place to return to each day. Wildlife in the garden is a bonus (Pine marten, deer, birds ) Good selection of baby bits and bobs for Jess to save bringing everything! Weather 20 degrees- sunshine !! only thing is never get the chance to light the stove! .............................

" Top notch cottage " great for kids, lovely countryside.
We stayed with our two young children (ages 4 and 18 months) in April 2013. Enjoyed a great week at the cottage. Really well equipped for kids and
adults alike (they even bought a new pushchair for our younger son to save us lugging one from London on the plane). Situated in lovely countryside,
near Loch Ness, nice big garden-- the kids had great fun running around and playing on the ride-on toys. Plenty of things to do nearby. The kids loved
the boat trip on Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Also within 1 hour car journey of Fort George and dolphin spotting sites. Lots of good walking,
especially in Glen Affric.
Would thoroughly recommend this as a family friendly place to stay.

Fantastic say's it all!
We just returned from a fantastic week's stay at Grant Cottage. This was the best self catering cottage I have stayed in (I'm very picky and it took me ages
to choose this one! ). The facilities were simply superb. Dish washer, latest TV ( Free view ), Ipod station, good quality crockery and bedding, spa bath.....
deserves the 5* star grading!
The property was also very safe for our two toddlers (15 months and 3 years ), and the owners provided everything you need to save you having to carry the
whole household with you- a common problem when travelling with kids!- including high chair, cot, changing mat but also indoor and outdoor toys, safety plugs,
fireguard for the wood burner ( we just loved the wood burner ). I believe this is all stowed away for visitors without kids.
We ordered a Tesco delivery which the owners Andrew and Catherine put away before we even arrived! this was so handy.
There's lots to do in the area ( we have travelled a lot across different parts of Scotland, and this area is one of our favourites )-very close to Glen Affric with the
most stunning scenery and waterfalls, the beach at Nairn and of course, Loch Ness. The cottage is about 5 minutes from Cannich where there is a Spar supermarket
which is handy for topping up milk and bread. The cottage comes with a decking and a garden which slopes towards a river/burn. The kids loved running about on
the decking and enjoyed playing with the surrounding stones.. There was also a bird house which could be seen from the kitchen window and provided lots
of entertainment during our lunch times. We tried to lure the Pine Marten with jam sandwiches ( this seemingly their food preference ) but although the
sandwiches were gone, we sadly missed them all the time!.
Cannot recommend this cottage enough.

Absolutely fantastic week in Grant Cottage. Everything we needed and the location is superb. Special
thanks to Neil for popping over and telling us about the stags up in Cannich and the seals. We visited Skye- Dog Falls
walked around Glen Affric, boat tour with George on Loch Ness was excellent, will definitely recommend,
And the sun shone all week!

We' ve had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage, the weather of the previous week didn't last sadly and we had snow the first 2 days
but it didn't matter, in fact the kids loved playing in it in the garden and we still got out and about,- Glen Affric looked amazing
in the snow and Plodda Falls is stunning in any weather and only a short baby buggy friendly walk from the car park! Had great days
out at Urquhart Castle and Fort George, the castle was particularly good, there's a children's farm at Beauly with a fantastic play area
but it was the one thing we did that needed warmer weather. There's also a great place for lunch in Beauly, The Old School House
next to the Priory. Fort Augustus is well worth a visit, Glen Cannich absolutely stunning, the cottage is really cozy and well equipped.
Thank you for everything.
